Charshanbeh soori
last night one of my labmates and I with her husband and their friends went to Sunny brook park for making fire and sing the traditional fire song;)..this was my first time that I was involved in making the fire in Canada;)we met two other guys who were starting the fire and we helped them with the recycled newspapers that my labmates and I brought from our lab as well as the methyl alcohol that we took to start up the fire;)!!it was pretty fast the way the whole thing started but the nicest thing of all was the time that it started to snow..snow on fire it's the most beautiful thing you can imagine..its the contrast between the natures of these two phenomena that makes it magnificiant...it was very cold but fire flames were making it really hot:)convection!!later I heard that it was -13C..anyways it was great ...some people would stop their cars and they would come down and said hi and jumped over it...we wanted to get some potatoes to bake it on the fire last night but forgot about it!!it would have been delicious..may be next year...the decipline was wonderful...since this year Police of Toronto knew about it before hand it was very very organized..I enjoyed it alot...they gave each car green papers at the entrance to the park on the saftey and what to do and not to do and then there were designated areas for fires and each part police would come and give out permits for fire making. Also there was a truck full of cutted woods that would provide fuel for each designated area!!can you beilieve it!!it was soooo organized..I loved it...and at the end you could call the fire trucks to come and put it out...the police were in their cars, on bike and on horse...the ones on horse were the funny ones..the horses are sooooooo big if I stand near them I wouldn't exceed the legs!!!anyways they had signals at the back of the horse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!for signaling wher they were walking!!it was so funny I have seen it before but everytime I see it, it makes me laugh again..I heard they bet, if the horse can jump over one of the big fires and the horse won the bet;)...this Charshanbe soori was great...I got to meet new people....and after that we went to eat some kebab ofcourse;)...really really good...I hope this coming year is as good and fun as charshanbe soori was:)

Tomorrow is "charshanbe soori":)and I am going with one of my labmates to Sunny Brook park..we might take the Turkish guy with us:)I hope its not as cold as the weather channel predicted...my friend wants to make her own fire!!isn't it wonderful?amazing..by the way I got a thank you letter from that pulp and paper interview:(I think I wasn't muscular enough for them:(being in a hot and dirty plant and all..well I hope the interview with process control people goes well..its funny every one is going to laugh at me!!since I will be in suit for the interview..I love that suit:)it makes me feel very professional!!not that I am not!!!!!ofcourse I am..it feels like I am the Vp or something..have to go out with Joelle at some point this week..she is kinda depressed about not getting that job at Temiskamin...since she wanted to move in with her fiance..damn this situation...I have dual feeling toward this...I am happy that I have time to chill and do research which I love but at the same time I don't feel I am moving toward my goal..which is sustainability..I mean careerwise and relationwise..I am so excited to see the guy Muna is so interested in...I hope she finally can get to meet him..as for me....I guess I am finally growing up..Although I am not sure if I want to...I still can remember the first time Sina showed me how to tie my skating shoes!!the feeling of learning new and exciting thing from your friend...who is going to take you toward something totally unpredictable is great...
Smokey Joe's
last night I went to one of my closest friend's birthday party at Smokey Jeo's..it was very nice..I got number 1 as usual;)I was there even before the host!!!I thought everyone will come on time!!but no..I guess you can never change the nature of Iranians!!!regardless of where they live!!but I had a good time there..I met a guy whose high school was my high school twin!!!!!meaning that we had the same teacher..when he said the name of his high school..all that wonderful and funny memories came back to me..I hope I see him again in other events and he tell me his perspectives of those teachers:)I loved some of those teacher..they made me who I am now..I still use their advice in life.....karaoke was part of the entertainment in that place..but regardless of the persistance of one of the guys there for me..we didn't sing..I centainly didn't want everyone to leave;)I am sure if I go to Karaoke again several time I will do it for sure..it seemed great:)...The cake was great..I loved the taste..I hope this friend gets all she wishes and desires in her life:)
